課程概述

• This course will focus on writing within an academic context. Students will use different rhetorical modes and culminate in short writings (paragraphs or short essays) on various subjects.
• The classes will take the form of a workshop where students are required to participate in the entire writing process, from brainstorming to (re)production of drafts, individually or in groups. As a consequence, attendance is essential.
• The three hours of class time per week may be devoted to discussions, workshops, lectures, correcting and rewriting sessions, oral presentations and compositions.

課程目標
• Demonstrate ability to write in various modes: description, narration, exemplification, classification, process analysis, comparison and contrast, definition, cause and effect, and argumentation.

• Explore sources of writing: reading, thinking, analyzing, and discussion.
